Macro with Date Prompts

Hi, I am trying to create a macro to run a custom report that shows all the GL entries for the prior day for our controller to review. The report is run each morning and I would like the dates to get the prior day. Is there a way I can get the date prompt to pop up for the user to enter the dates and then have the macro continue to run.

Yes, add a form with a Date Time Picker control. Or use a text field and then test the user input with IsDate(), or use Inputbox and test the input with IsDate().... etc. Many ways to accomplish this, it just depends on your imagination.

Add these lines to your macro:

Dim strDate As String

strDate = InputBox("Please enter a date", "Date", Format$(Now, "Short Date"))

If IsDate(strDate) Then

MsgBox strDate

Else

MsgBox "Error: " & strDate & " is not a date", vbOKOnly + vbCritical, "Error"

End If

You can inject strDate in your macro to set the run date for your reports.
