Cant use web screens in sage 300 and sage crm integration

I am trying to use sage 300c 6.3 with web screens and the sage crm integration. As you cant have portal and web screens installed together it effectively means i cant run web screens for sage 300 and sage crm integration.

You need to use 2 servers, one for CRM and one for 300c. 300c is great innit?

We have Sage CRM integrated and Sage 3000c screens running off the same server. We don't ever use the portal so didn't install it. Not sure what we are missing here.

You cannot have the Portal (used by Sage CRM) and 300c running on the same server.
So if you want to use Sage 300 screens in Sage CRM then you cannot run 300c on the same server - because that will create a conflict.

We never use the Sage screens in CRM. They are only practical on a LAN so it's no big deal to use Sage 300 directly instead. Everything we want to use works fine (Sage CRM web screens, 300c screens). Oh, except printing in 300c!!

With this being the first release of 300c one can expect problems, some fixes in future releases and then having the product replaced by some new technology in the future - if one goes by past history of "web" offerings by Sage 300.

On the Printing issue from the 300c Web Screens, are you on a Windows 10 machine? If so, we have the following KB article for a resolution to this: support.na.sage.com/.../viewdocument.do

Regarding the installation of CRM and 300c, it is true that they must reside on separate servers as there is a conflict within IIS on the same server. This is a known and unfortunate issue. The key point is that both installations must point to the same shared folder as the behavior behind the "Portal" button in DB Setup is shared by both installations (CRM to setup portal DB and 300c to setup Landlord DB). Therefore, during installation is critical to point to the same shared folder location.

300c is working with CRM as we have completed a POC to surface the 300c web screens within CRM. It is very exciting and will remove a lot of the sync requirements.

Thanks John, it's always great to get some real information and very good about the 300c screens in CRM.

On printing, it's not Windows 10 and we are aware of the kb thanks. We have had a ticket open for a couple of months and one of your support team has been unfortunate enough to be on our servers a couple of days this week with no result. We really appreciate the efforts of the support team.

We have CRM and 300c on the same server. Do you know what the consequences of having both are? We haven't encountered problems so far.

We run CRM and 300C on the same server, too, with zero issues. SSL-enabled, too.

Well, I believe that one of the side affects would be printing issues. And, you are experiencing this, but Jay is not. Hmmm... But, since this is not a support environment, it is difficult to say.

Well I did wonder once this came to light. However we have previously tried a number of clean installs without CRM at all and we can't preview on any of them (I should perhaps say preview rather than print - using the generic term in Sage 300 sorry). It seems we are not alone but there may well be something we and others are doing wrong. We can't pin it down.

We have never even been able to print preview, Jay. It's likely we are doing something wrong but we have tried over and over with clean servers, checked guides and anything else we can think of.

Check for popup blockers and run in IE compatibility mode - most common issues with printing. But I guess you have covered that.

Thanks. We aren't assuming anything. I think we have tried those but we don't mind looking stoopid as long as we can find out what we are doing wrong. Same issue in all supported browsers too.
