GL Import

We have been importing Journal Entries for year through the GL Import, however we decided to begin to import more Journal Entries to save time. Currently when we are importing the system will assign a Journal Number to it but it there a way for us to assign the Journal Number? We are currently setting the import up in excel and saving it as a CSV file.

While it can sometimes be a little work to get it going, you might want to consider using the Data Import Manager. It has a pending GL transaction import that allows you to specify where the Journal Numbers come from. You can have the system automatically create them, or you can choose to use the imported values. The process allows you to use Excel spreadsheets (properly formatted) directly as a source.

You might also consider using Data Porter. It's much simpler to setup a GL Transaction file than doing so in Data Import Manager. If you are not already licensed for Data Import Manager or Data Porter you would need to purchase either 'module' from your Sage reseller.
