Anti-Virus Software & MAS 500

Hi,

I have not found alot of documentation regarding antivirus software and our MAS 500 server (version 7.05.20.0). Coming from the MAS 90/200 world there were many do this/don't do that suggestions from Sage.

Where can I find more info about this?

  • Recently we bought Symantec End point protection and after pushing it out to 45% of our organization we have had to stop and are in the process of returning the antivirus. On every user that we installed the antivirus it would randomly kick out the user or they would click on a feature and it would sit there and eventually put out the message of "Not Responding" and at that point you have to log off and reboot. In most cases all you have to do in order to bypass any inconveniences is simply add the folder to the do not scan and ignore feature on an anti virus this was not the case. I even went as far as contacting Symantec support and after 1 hr on the phone and remotely they were not able to fix this issue. For now we will have to revert back with AVG but for the future I would like to see SAGE put out a patch. This is not an isolated incident it has happened in the past with others.
