I don't believe Office 365 is supported with any current version of 500. The Sage 500 ERP Compatibility and Resource Guide for version 2014 (aka 7.6) cites only MS Office versions 2007 SP2, 2010 and 2013 are supported. Even then, it mentions that if you're running Office 2010 or 2013 Document Transmittal may have issues unless Office was upgraded from a previous version.

This topic came up in a LinkedIn discussion about a year ago.  I did some quick research into it and it can possibly be done through a customization to the EmailUtils.DLL and DocDistribution.DLL.  If you have the SDK source code, I outline on the LinkedIn discussion what needs to be done.

If you do not have the Sage 500 SDK and you need this functionality, contact your reseller to see if they can make the modification for you or contact a developer reseller on your behalf such as E2bTek to do this work.
