I think you may have posted this under the wrong category. Are you trying to create the calculated field in Sage 500 or in Sage Intelligence Reporting? Please confirm.

Bill the easiest way to is to modify the view to include a join to tPA0007. If you give more detail I might be able to give you a better answer.

Thanks John, I was afraid of that because it's one more thing to chase in an upgrade and explorer settings are stored in the db so I wouldn't have to manage another object.

Bill - It's pretty easy and not much maintenance. Just create a new view. The upgrade won't touch it and since the db schema never changes (ok almost never) it should just work forever. I bet we have 100 views we maintain through upgrades. It's usually not very much work. At most a couple of days to upgrade our code and usually I spend more time testing that nothing broke than fixing anything.
