Does any one at Sage still monitor the Sage 500 ERP Ideas site?

Does any one at Sage still monitor the Sage 500 ERP Ideas site and keep it up to date?  I just entered a new one today and was reviewing some of the existing items.   It's hard to tell what has been considered and rejected as far as ideas go.  It would be nice to have an additional tab added for rejected ideas and the reason why added to the comments.

Another nice feature would be option for a monthly email to send to users a list of new ideas, rejected ideas, ideas being considered and ideas added to the product for the past month.

  • Sage - Maybe you could update us on what was said about 500 at Sage Summit too.
  • Lou,
We do still monitor the Sage 500 Ideas site. The site is not ours to modify though, so the additional tabs, etc. are not in our control. Probably of most interest is whether we've addressed an Idea - that we do update.
I don't know that I could distill Summit down to a discussion post. We had several Sage 500 session, although it was not part of the larger presentation.
This coming year, there will be several Sage Summit events in various locations around the world. See www.sage.com/.../about.php
For some of the highlights of 2016 Sage Summit, check out this link www.youtube.com/watch
I think it's something you have got to attend to get the sense of it.

I was just looking for highlights, like we've got these new features planned and we're excited about it. Sage sales called me to ask how I was doing, I told them I'd be doing better if someone could answer a question like I had above.

I don't know that I can articulate all of what's going on, but a couple suggestions (and I'll mention a couple of the what's-going-on :)).
Often, we just mention what's up and coming, but there are many customers on older releases that could benefit from ALL of the enhancements and defect fixes from then to the current release. Reviewing the What's New for the releases is a great resource for that. Typically, I see customers on 7.4 or v2013 that don't know of the things that have been done since then.
Anyway, in the next release, we have done a few things - we've got support for Sage Exchange Desktop 2.0, which resolves the Citrix issue several customers reported. This is also available in the September PU for v2016. We have added a feature to Maintain Natural Accounts to update the status of all related, sub accounts. Finally, we are focusing on working with other teams, internally and external, to deliver value in related products. The Sage Intelligence Reporter team is doing a great job of adding value through additional reports available in the Report Utility (many of these are not yet there, but the Report Utility is).
    www.sageintelligence.com/.../
    or more specifically, www.sageintelligence.com/.../sage-500

An example of reports they are working on: Inventory On Hand Analysis, Vendor Performance, Cash Flow Projections

Here's a partial list of things done in the past couple releases:
    Finance & Accounting
    •Import pending cash receipts
    •Lock sub-ledgers at closing
    •AP EFT remittances
    •Multi-GL cash management allocations
    •Level 3 credit card security
    Winning Solution
    •Visual Process Flows
    •Expanded e-mail fields
    •Color coded company codes
    •Next/Prevrecord scroll
    •Priority and pop-up memos
    Advanced Distribution
    •Sage Inventory Advisor
    •Shipment ID in Generate Shipments

    Darrick,

I was wondering when 500 would support SQL 2016 and Windows 2016? Both of these products are not on the supported platform matrix. We are definitely interested in moving to SQL 2016 in particular.

    Thx.
