The status of future development for Sage 500 has not changed ... that is to say, we are still supporting the product and actively developing improvements against pain points for existing customers.  

There are no current plans to stop development.  In fact, we just released the 2018 release in July of 2018 with a handful of enhancements.  Our focus is targeted toward maintenance and customer retention.  

We do have a roadmap document regarding future development.  It currently includes some connected services such as an Office 365 integration and an improved banking feature to simplify Cash Management.  We are working on sizing some other features as well, but are not close enough to discuss those things in detail, yet.  Stay tuned to this sight for additional information on the most recent and coming releases.

Thank you for your answer, where can I find more about the roadmap document.  I'm also interested to see when the support for 1099 will stop if we are using Sage 500 ERP 2016 ?
