Is it possible to automatically generate an expiration date for an item based on it's receipt date / shelf life?

The sage documentation isn't clear on whether or not that's possible. We use EVS O2 for process manufacturing, and any finished good items will have a default expiration date based on its shelf life / production date. I figured that we would be able to do something similar on the receipt of goods screen, but we're not having any luck. 

I'm wondering if I'm missing a setup option, or if it would be possible to create a trigger that would populate a default expiration date for raw materials.  Does anyone have a solution?
