Sage University and Training Options

3 minute read time.

We often get asked in support, how do I learn this program? Do you provide any training? We do indeed provide some free resources, but Sage also sells high quality training courses on Sage University, at http://www.sageu.com/.

The Free Stuff

Everybody wants to know where the free stuff is, so here you go:

1. SageU.com

For program training, there is a free course that is available to everyone on SageU, Getting Started and Navigation. It's approimately 2 hoursr and fifteen minutes, and provides a pretty solid foundation for basics and how to navigate the program.

There's another course that is free to all Sage Business Care subscription (and almost all existing customers do), it is a Sage 50 Foundations course. It contains all all the courses of the Getting Started & Navigation plus all Installation videos. A great one to see is the on installation tips. Go to

2. Sage City - YouTube

While Sage City is not really a location for in-depth training, the forums are active enough that specific questions or problems will usually be answered. Additionally, you can watch installation videos that helps you easily install the product, locate your free training and find training on Sage University that helps you become stronger in the product.

4. Help Menu

Some years ago, the decision was made to cease production of a physical manual. While there were a couple of years in which a manual was not available at all, there is one now, in PDF format. In the program, go to Help, User Manuals, Sage 50 User's Guide. While the User's Guide is heavily based on the existing Help files, there are a lot of topics in Help, Accounting Help, that go into great detail.

5. Knowledgebase

Don't neglect the knowledgebase for how-to articles. Once Sage adopted KCS methodology, every call and situation must have an accompanying article and solution. http://support.na.sage.com.
