Sage 50ꟷU.S. Edition: Update on Form 941 and Deferring Payroll Taxes

The updated Form 941 for Q3 has been finalized by the IRS and is now available via an automatic payroll forms update. If no employees have utilized the FICA deferral in Q3 the prior form may be used. For guidance on deferring U.S. payroll taxes in Sage 50 as well as producing reports with totals to be reported on the Form 941, see Sage Knowledgebase article 107002: Payroll Tax Deferral Setup and Tracking.

  • I had the data owner "rebase" and today I could get in.   I also did a rebase and now it is showing the data owner that she is downloading data.  What does rebase do?

    Hi Michael,

Rebasing forces an upload of the local dataset that is on the computer to overwrite copy that is on the cloud.  If one user is able to get in and another is not, that means that the last upload to the cloud was damaged, so the user that can access the company rebases to restore their copy up to the cloud.

You probably didn't need to rebase the company yourself, but since you did the rebase it is going through the motions of downloading the data on the data owner's computer just to make sure they have the most recent data.  It should be fine, but just verify that you have all the most recent transactions that had been entered.
