A note about the release date for Sage 50—U.S. Edition 2023.0 and more

We have updated the timing for the new 2023.0 release date. Starting with version 2023.0, we have moved our major (.0) releases from the summer to the fall to align more with other product releases in our organization. We will notify you when Sage 50 US 2023.0 is available.

Important reminder: Effective March 1, 2023, support will end for Sage 50—U.S. Edition 2022 to keep you in compliance with the latest technology and operating systems. So, be sure to upgrade to version 2023.0 in the fall! Visit FAQ – Sage 50 US Obsolescence for more information.

Here are a few items to look out for before the new fall release:

  • 1099 forms: Sage is committed to keeping up with regulations to deliver the right solutions at the right time. Coming in version 2023.0, all customers with an active plan will be able to access 1099/1096 tax forms via Aatrix to stay compliant with the newest updates. See the table below for changes and how this will apply to you:

 

Sage 50 2022.x and earlier versions

Print 1099/1096 forms to pre-printed forms from Sage 50

 

All customers with or without an active plan

Print 1099/1096 forms from Aatrix

Note: You will need to purchase an Aatrix efile plan from Sage to use the Aatrix efile capabilities or use the Information Return Intake System (IRIS) with the IRS to efile manually.

In case you missed it…

  • Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol: To ensure you are using the most current TLS protocol recommended by third-party standards organizations to provide end-to-end security of your data, you must be on Sage 50 version 2020.2 or later by September 30, 2022. After that date, you will be unable to install and reactivate version 2020.1 and prior versions of Sage 50. Upgrade to the latest version to avoid disruption to your business.   • Sage Intelligence Reporting Desktop: Effective October 1, 2022, Sage Intelligence Reporting will be retired and removed from the Sage 50 U.S. Edition portfolio. Visit this Sage City post for more information.
