FREQUENT I/O errors using Sage 50 Quantum Accounting 2018

SUGGESTED

We are experiencing frequent I/O errors affecting different areas of the database. Has anyone else seen an increase in these errors occurring?  What is the cause?

    • So, you have data corruption.  It can be fixed by deleting a few files.  CALL Sage and the can remote in and fix this.

I/O errors can be very serious errors and need to be resolved immediately.  Certain I/O errors can cause major damage to your company files that will require a backup before you received that particular error. An example of these data damaging I/O error messages is I/O error in variable record length, I/O error 54. You can have an I/O error in more than one file such as a UserPref.dat in which case the User Pref.dat can be deleted and will recreate when you re open Sage. If you get an I/O error in a journal header or journal row, then you must run data verify or integrity checks to resolve the data corruption.  If the data verify or integrity checks do not fix the corruption, you must restore a backup prior to receiving this message.  If you have these serious problems where the Data Verify and Integrity Check doesn't fix the corruption and you do not want to restore from a backup, we can take a look at your files for no charge and give you a quote to fix them.  Please contact Kim at Accounting Conversions 800 303-7770
