1. That database size is not too large for Quantum. Many people with databases more than double that size are successfully using Quantum.

2. Without knowing anything about your existing server, or what kind of errors you're getting, it's impossible to say whether or not a faster server server would help you. But server speed does affect performance. A fast hard drive helps, in fact it's worth considering using an SSD instead of a traditional hard drive. The speed of the server's network connection makes a big difference too.

3. That depends on what you mean by "get on the Cloud". Switching to Sage 50cloud and using Sage Drive will definitely not help with this problem. But if by "cloud" you mean moving your data off of your local server and using a hosting service, then it might help but isn't a guaranteed fix.

4. I don't know if there is a good conversion tool to migrate data to Sage 100. It's been quite a few years since I have worked with Sage 100 but at that time there was not.

More good info, thanks. I expect the company sales to double in the next couple years so I’m starting plan for some fix before Its a major problem.

Are you having issues with Sage 50? What error messages.  I/O messages or something else.  We do offer data repair.  Stepping into Sage 100 is a lot more expensive.   Maybe we can help you.

Its working now, by purging old files. But its the second time in 3 weeks, so I need to start looking into longer term fixes.  Thanks,
