Parts of characters cut off on invoices

SUGGESTED

Running Sage 50 Accounting. Upgraded (the hard way) from Peachtree 2012.

Had this issue with the 2012 version and still have same issue with 2020 version of Sage 50 accounting.

When printing invoices - select text items get a couple pixels on right side cut off. With both Print and print preview characters of right justied strings are getting cut off. Has done this for years through multiple computers and multiple printers. Only seems to do this with strings that are right justified. Left and center justified strings always print properly.

For example - "Total Invoice Amount" will cut off and read "Total Invoice Amoun" with a tiny piece of the "t" showing. Nothing is overlapping from the right - I have checked that multiple times - there is even a gap between end of this string and the start of the next string. I can move this string anywhere on the page - same results. And the object width for the string is plenty big enough (object nearly 3x size required by string).

Anybody run into this? And if so, has anybody found a fix?

I've run into this occasionally. Since you've already tried different printers, I would just edit the text that is getting cut off. Simply add one or more spaces to the end of the text. That way the spaces get cut off instead of real text. The other option would be to center or left justify the text and then adjust the field positioning to get it to print where you want.

I know that doesn't really address the source of the problem, but it's the fastest and easiest way I know of to get your invoices to print correctly.

    Thanks Steven,

I hoped this issue would go away when I ditched my Dell laser printer (paper jam monster - think of the fax machine on the movie "Office Space"). New OKI laser printer does the same thing so it does not appear to be printer or driver.

I already tried adding padding characters to the right. No matter how many blanks I add to the right - they all get truncated and then the far right non-blank character gets clipped. How much of the character gets clipped depends on the specific character.

Not a bad idea about just making them center justified and then manually placing the text. If nobody else comes up with an idea, I will try that.

I have this same problem and it has only happened since I moved to Sage50c.  I've been using Sage (well Peachtree before that) since 2003 and this issue is definitely new. And frustrating.  I've been doing the same thing as StephenC suggests.  Hopefully they will get a fix in for it soon.

I tried this (adding spaces to the end of the line) and it still cut off the characters.  I had to redesign my form and use a smaller font, even though the text box was plenty large enough to use the font I was using.

The other form issue we had after the upgrade was that the Remit To information on every form printed wrong - i.e. not bold, not larger font.  I would go into the form and it said it was formatted correctly, but didn't print that way.  I had to delete the whole text box and start over.

Thanks guys. At least I realize I am not the only one affected by this.

I tried various font sizes and font types, no success as they all seemed to do this. Only fix I could find for this was to *not* use right justification. Center the text and then line up the right side manually. Not easy but it works. I guess this was a 'software improvement' for this version of Sage.
