Data export before decommission

SUGGESTED

Dear Group members

Our business no longer uses Sage for active data entry. We had used in past till 2019. We are looking to decommission the application in our organization. Before we do, there is a compliance requirement to store data records for next 10 years. We do not want to keep paying the yearly licensing fee for next 10 yrs just to read data and also hosting the application incurs a lot of infrastructure costs for our organization.

Did anyone perform this task for their organization. If yes can help us with some questions like

1. Can you provide steps on how to export data from Sage to any other format like MS excel or other formats ?.
2. Can you export Sage database to any other database like oracle or MS SQL ?.

You can't export the Sage 50 database to another database like Oracle or MS SQL, but you still have several options.

    1. Even after your subscription expires you should still be able to view your existing data. If you don't want to maintain it on your network you can install it on one PC and restore your data onto it.

2 If you want full access, not just "view-only" access you can purchase a perpetual license from a certified consultant like myself.

    3. All reports in Sage 50 can be sent to Excel or PDF, just use the buttons at the top of the report window.

    4. Data can be exported to CSV files by going to the File menu > Select Import/Export. This data will be very difficult to read, but may be useful if you want to import it into another database.

  • Please call me and let's talk.  I think I can help you retain your data.
