Upgrade?  

The work around to Archive is to make a backup then restore the backup to a NEW company. Once restore, let Sage open the new company. Go to maintain company information and type the fiscal year end in front of the company name. You can do this either before or after you close your current company. The restored company will allow you to make changes so it’s best to close the year you have completed so no changes can be made.

Hi Kim,  Yes he could do that, but then when he does upgrade, the wizard will not pick up all of these company files and he will have to pay to have them converted.
