How do I get the "your data is loading" box to close?

SUGGESTED

Hello, Can someone please help me fix this issue?  I've restarted my desktop twice, and the box continues to load.  Control/alt/delete does not fix it either

Thanks,

Joe

    Hi ,

Thanks for reaching out. Do you get the same message with the sample company? Here's some related steps to try:

    • Try loading reports in a sample company to verify the issue is not data-related
    • If you get the same message, this is an indication that the problem is damaged program files

    Hope this helps!

    Warm Regards,
    Erzsi

I could not replicate the issue with a sample company.

When I initially did the search I used "all time" as the time window and searched an invoice number that would not work as I had incorrectly used "customer ID" as a search criteria.  I should have used "invoice number" as the search criteria.

Now the system is stuck trying to search something that does not exist.

You don't have an invoice number in there.  You need to open the screen and let it run.  Make sure the computer does not go to sleep.  It will eventually pull in all of the invoices ever written.  Then, never put in all transactions again!  If you are looking for something, go to the EDIT tab on the main screen and put in a transaction number amount or something like that and the system will pull up a small sample.

    Kind regards,

I do have an invoice number in there  #220440.  That number doesn't show up in the screen shot. The system is trying to match that invoice # under the customer ID, in all transactions.  It will never find anything.  This has happened in the past and the only method to fix it was to uninstall all 20 years of data off of the server and reinstall using an updated version of the software.

    Joe,

It is not looking for an invoice number, or any specific number or criteria. If you look at your screenshot again, you will see that the "Search for" field is empty. Because you set it to All Transactions for your previous search, it is now pulling in every single invoice ever created in that company. You have no choice but to just let it run until it loads. Once it does load, change it to a different option other than all. Next time you open it, it will only try to load the invoices in the timeframe selected.

Believe me, I feel your pain! I accidentally added a field in my view of my inventory list. After more than an hour of trying to load, it still isn't loading and it is creating a massive lag for other users. I will have to let it load over night, while no one else is in the system, just so I can fix the settings.
