1099's

SUGGESTED

I am the IT admin for our company.

My controller is asking why the 1099's are not printable from Sage50 2023.

I go to the reports/forms tax forms area and the 1099's forms are not there. In fact there are no forms in that area.

Please Help!

    Hi

Since it looks like you are using Sage 50 US, I am going to move this post to that Support Group so that other users of this software will see it and can offer you their thoughts and insight.

Related to your question though, please see this article for details on how to print/e-file the 1099/1096 forms through Aatrix Forms.

Note: Starting with the 2023.0 release, the 1099 and 1096 forms will no longer be available to print from the Forms menu in Sage 50. However, all customers with a valid plan will have the ability to print 1099/1096 forms through Aatrix (see above). Efiling will require an Aatrix efile subscription or manual filing with the IRS. Customers on release 2022 and earlier still have the option of printing 1099/1096 forms through the Sage 50 Forms menu.

If you do not subscribe to the payroll tax service, you can print the 1099 and 1096 forms through Sage rather than Aatrix.

To print the 1099 and 1096 forms using Sage:

    1. Go to Reports & Forms, Forms, Tax Forms.
    2. Select the desired 1099 or 1096 form, MISC or INT.
    3. Select the filing year.
    4. You may filter vendors by ID, active/inactive, or by payment method.
    5. Click Refresh List to get preview of the vendors that will print.
    6. You may click Print/E-mail to print the 1099 forms, or click Print Preview to preview them to the screen first.

    Thanks,

    Erzsi

FWIW, I think it might be worth noting, that starting with 2023 1099's the IRS is requiring that they be filed electronically rather than printed and mailed in if you have ten or more information returns.  That is ten on an aggregate basis, (if you had 3 1099-Misc and 7 1099-NEC you would have to file electronically).  I am unclear from reading the IRS info on that whether or not it included W2's also, but I think that it does.  That means most companies will have to file electronically this coming tax season.....  Fortunately, Aatrix does offer electronic filing through Sage....
