Import File to Create New Items

SUGGESTED

I am using export/import files with specific fields selected to make updates to items on a mass scale. I added new items to the file so they would be created upon import. Why are they not created in the default item class? My Inventory Item default is set to create items as non-stock items, but upon import, it is creating the new items as stock items. Of course, this is not something that can be changed within the item screen for a simple fix. It is creating a lot of extra work for me to recreate them as non-stock items one at a time rather than a mass import. Any suggestions?

You can import them as Non-stock but it doesn't read the setting in the defaults to determine the class.  Instead change the 1 to a 0 in the item class column and they will be non-stock.  Here is a list of file definitions for the item class:

Numeric (Whole) - Inventory item class; valid numbers are 0 through 11, where 0=Non-stock item, 1=Stock item, 2=Description only, 3=Assembly,

4=Service, 5=Labor, 6=Activity item (Sage 50 Premium Accounting and higher), 7=Charge item (Sage 50 Premium Accounting and higher), 8=Master stock item (Sage 50 Premium Accounting and higher), and 9=Substock (Sage 50 Premium Accounting and higher).

10=Serialized Stock item (Sage 50 Premium Accounting and higher),

11= Serialized Assembly (Sage 50 Premium Accounting and higher),

Let me know if you get stuck on any import and I could take look.  [email protected]
