I am speaking from a Consultants point of view. If your QB was not set up correctly, you probably don't want to bring in the data. I would suggest just bringing in the account numbers  and  maintenance records.  Enter adjusted  beginning balances.  Then  enter new data as you move forward.

If you put garbage in, you will get garbage out. 

Don't rush the process.  Get it right from the start and it will pay you back every day!
