941 incorrect amounts calculating

Anyone else dealing with this?

It has long been known that when you void or reissue a paycheck, the 941 report has incorrect amounts resulting from negative symbols being deleted in the background and the amounts then added together for the day. This was based on Aatrix's development from many years ago when the IRS basically told software companies to stop allowing negative numbers on the Schedule B page for the daily detail, since this would mean that what was meant to be machine-readable would have to be manually read and entered in their system.

Anyway, many I've spoken with understand that the report needs to be 'fixed' by the end user when these situations occur. It really is too bad that the software developers at Aatrix do not seem to account for real life when programming the reporting to ensure accuracy and simply provide instructions/highlighting on the page for end-users to correctly identify and correct the daily amount(s) in question if the software won't or can't given the current programming.

Moving on.... we now have NonResAlien as an additional memo item to calculate Federal Withholding based on the IRS's requirements.

With this, the 941 does not accurately reflect the FWH on line 2 or the Schedule B detail. With my case with Sage, over the course of almost 2 hours, a support rep and I were able to get the 941-B to reflect the correct amounts, but to do so, had to go in Employee Defaults and uncheck the NonResAlien line item from calculating prior to running the 941 report. Without doing this, the 941 would match the Tax Liability Report, but both were incorrect and did not match the Payroll Register totals or the Earnings report totals.

I was advised to uncheck the box every time I needed to run the 941 (which is every payroll) so the that 941-B and the Tax Liability Report match what shows on the registers and earnings totals so as not to show a large amount on line 7 in 'fractions of cents'.

Unfortunately, this is still happening even though I now uncheck that box every time I have to run the 941 since the April update. Line 2 is still incorrect also, for some unknown reason and I have to manually enter the correct amount on the 941 report.

I requested that this would be escalated to the engineers to deal with Aatrix regarding the inaccurate amounts showing. I have yet to receive any update on this and I am having to run reports on the individuals, the TLR, the earnings, and the registers every payroll to track what is correct vs what is not.

Thanks for reaching out! I've forwarded your post onto the Sage 50 US support management team to see if they have any insights to share from communications with the Aatrix team. Will update…
