    Hi  ,

I'm sorry to hear that your Payroll Tax File didn't update when closing your Year-End for 2023 in Sage. This issue can be frustrating. Here are some steps to address this problem:

    1. Ensure you have administrative rights: Make sure you are logged into Windows as a user with administrative rights and install the Payroll Solutions update again.

    2. Verify the tax update version: Check if you have the latest tax update version for your Sage 50 release (2023 or 2024). You can do this by going to Help > About Sage 50 Accounting and confirming that the Installed Tax Update version matches the correct version.

    3. If you encounter errors after the update, it's possible that the Tax Tables or the Updates folder may be damaged. In this case, you can try the following:

      a. Browse to the data path and remove Taxtable.dat and Taxinfo.dat files to a new folder on the desktop.

      b. Run the tax update as an Administrator from the Updates folder.

      c. Open Sage 50 and check for updates again to see if the error persists.

    4. If the issue still persists, you can consider renaming the Updates directory to "OldUpdates" and then check for updates again. This can help resolve issues related to damaged Updates folder content.

Remember to back up your data before making any significant changes. If you continue to experience problems, you can seek further assistance from Sage 50 support or your system administrator.

If you need more information or have any other questions, please feel free to ask. Chat with support or join us at Sage Q&A Live for real-time answers.

    Warm Regards,
    Erzsi
