Pervasive DSN: Determine which company goes with which database?

SUGGESTED

I have multiple copies of our company loaded on a standalone PC, basically a separate company for every two years (so 2012+2013, and then another company for 2014+2015, etc).

I have renamed each company appropriately internally within PT (such as ABC Company - 2012-2013, and then ABC Company 2014-2015), but when I go and set up a new DSN in Windows (using the Mkicrosoft ODBC 32-bit utility in the Control Panel) I'm having a hard time determining which database is for which company as it seems to list them as "ABCCOMPANY1" and "ABCCOMPANY2" and "ABCCOMPANY".

Is there a way to determine which database goes with which version of the company?

    Yes, I know, right?

My list has 20 items COMPANYNAMELL to COMPANYNAME20, but I only have 1 company in this machine, whats up with that?

Have you tried the "Create database" instead the "Get List" button?

I haven't tried that, but perhaps with that you can point to the exact company you need for that specific DSN.

I did try creating a "TEST" database, keeping the default settings other than pointing to the sage\company\companyfolder and I was able to test it on the DSN screen. I'd have to test my application, but perhaps that's one way.

I'll find out and post the results here.

    Thanks

You can query the Pervasive Database Configuration .DB file using DTO and get the DataPath or the DDF File locations with the QDB Name (ABCCOMPANY1, etc).  There are tons of examples on the web.
