Our client has a five user license installation. We noticed that our windows service shows up as a user in login manager. Does this mean that a we need a new license for the windows service connecting to Sage 50 via the SDK?

Hello, yes you would need an interactive user license for the COM API applications. However, for .NET API it's counted separately.
If you have a five-user serial number, you can have five interactive users, PLUS five .NET API users, and those users do not have to be on the same machine.
