New Fiscal closing date for 2013

Running Peach tree 2012.  We changed our Corporate status in 2013. Our current fiscal range is 6/1-5/31.  Our new range will be traditional 1/1-12/31. Can force the fiscal year to close as of dec 31 of 2013?   I started year end wizard, and it appears to let me change the next fiscal year, but not the current.  I am not sure I understand how that works either.  But I read somewhere that I can change the company fiscal range in setup.  Where do I find this setup if it is possible?  otherwise, please detail how to effect changes  Thanks

    Hello Rick,

    The only way to change your Fiscal year is to rebuild your company. Answer ID 10254 in our Knowledge Base will walk you through the steps in doing so. Sometimes the import/export process can be difficult and time consuming. You may want to reach out to one of our Certified Consultants for assistance with this process to ensure that your data is properly imported.

    It is worth trying the rebuild process because your original data is left intact, so you have nothing to lose. But in most cases it is more cost effective to have someone else do it for you. In particular, if you use quotation marks anywhere in your data (such as a symbol for inches) it will be nearly impossible to import your data into the new company.     Keep in mind that when you change your fiscal year, you should wait until the end of your short year before changing the fiscal calender in Sage 50/Peachtree.
