What specific task were you in when you "went to add into our inventory and put it under the wrong item name"?  If it was in IC, Purchasing, Purchase Order Receipts, and you select you received in quantity on the wrong part ID, then a Purchase Order Return would work.   A Purchase Order return allows you to return a single item, you do not have to return the whole purchase order.  You also may want to review Knowledge Base article #18715"How do inventory and order entry transactions post to General Ledger (18715)" on the difference of how an adjustment vs. a purchase order return affects posting to the General Ledger.  If this is still not answering your question, then I would suggest opening a case to speak with a support analysts to discuss your transactions and how they effect your inventory.

Inventory control PO receipt is where I go to add the items into our inventory once received. Sorry I am new and no one here knows anything about this system. The lady before me did not teach me anything she left a week before I started.

Welcome to BusinessWorks!  If you are new to BusinessWorks, you may want to go to our Knowledge Base at support.na.sage.com and search article  "How to obtain assistance with Sage Software products" (17394).  This gives you options for the assistance we can offer you.  One example in the article is our Sage University (at SageU.com)  Sage University offers a few video courses that you can register and take at any time that fits your schedule.  There are 2 very good courses that relate to Inventory - a Basic and an Advance class - that I would recommend if you are new to BusinessWorks Inventory.  And if you are on a GOLD support plan, these classes are free!  If you are not on a Gold support plan, then there are fees for the courses.

    Thanks,
