For Checks, BusinessWorks only allows numeric numbers up to 6 digits. Unfortunately, I am not aware of any version in the last 15-20 years that allowed letters for check numbers.

Thank you.  The bookkeeper I worked with before was a wizard when it came to getting SAGE to do what she wanted.  I might try to touch base with her and see how she accomplished it...thanks again for your time.  If I can get her to divulge her secret I will certainly post it here.

Has anyone had any luck doing that in Businessworks?  I know its possible in other versions.  If anyone has done this successfully I would appreciate any tips you could give me. 

Currently, Sage BusinessWorks still only allows numeric numbers up to 6 digits.  I would think anything else would be something performed outside of the Sage BusinessWorks program since our system is only programmed to accept numeric values for check numbers.  But if you hear of a 3rd party program that handles this, please let me know.
