Stumped by "running" BW while trying to apply BW2021 Sp10 to client PC, in a network

Question

Server 2016 network enviroment 
 Server is running BW 2021 SP10 
 Client PC - Win 10 all updates 
 Fresh restart / OFF for 10 hours (not sleep mode) - BW 2021 client installed from server 
 Upon running the BW2021 SP10 updator on the client computer this is the message. 
 Have gone as far as shutting down services for Pervasive at Server, same results. 
 The task was run at elevated previllage (ADMIN)

 Sometimes a task can be stuck behind the scenes, that can effect performing a task the requires exclusive rights, like the installation of the service pack. I would first disconnect the users in the DBRegister. If that does not work, then I would shout down the Pervasive Services at the server (not just the workstation). While at the server check for any Open Files in Computer Management. Also confirm that the Sage folder is shared with FULL Control. Sometimes doing a server reboot is also useful.

Hi Vince- 
 I am glad to hear rebooting resolved your issue. The general rule is that you only need to reboot during an install if you are prompted or getting specific errors that would require a reboot. Most installs are not prompted for a reboot and a reboot is not required. 
 With that said, in reviewing past install instructions (v2017 for example), there was instructions if installing on Windows 10 machine, a reboot will be required after installation. But on the current install instructions, those instructions are no longer included and most installs are completed without rebooting. 
 I will send a note to have the install instructions reviewed and make any necessary changes to the installation articles if needed.
