Converting a company file From QuickBooks Desktop to a Sage BusinessWorks Company file

SUGGESTED

Hello!

We recently purchased sage BusinessWorks and would like to convert our previous QuickBooks file into sage BusinessWorks, so we don't lose anything.

I talked to support, and they told me I would have to manually enter in every transaction and import it, is there any program or website out there that can convert the file where I don't have to manually enter in 18 years' worth of accounting data?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Sage!  Unfortunately, there is no tool to convert Quick Books into Sage BusinessWorks.   I agree with both DeeDee Heyne and Vince Settipane’s responses to your questions. If you are looking for assistance with this, I would suggest working with your local reseller or Business Partner.  If you do not have one, you can reach out to your sales team by calling 800-447-5700 to request one.  You can keep 60 months for the subledger modules, 9 years for General Ledger.  Using Vince Settipane’s suggestion on creating a copy or archive company at the end of the year is a great suggestion for storing historical data.  In BusinessWorks, you can have up to 999 companies, so you can make copy/archive companies every year and toggle to them when necessary.  Also, Vince Settipane had a good point of storing data and how you can reach the maximum limit for certain transactions.  Please see enclosed articles regarding creating a copy company and maximums for the product.

How do I create an archive company or copy of an existing company?

What are the maximum limits or product specifications

If you have specific questions regarding the program feel free to search for a resolution on the Sage Knowledgebase at www.sagekb.com.  If you would like to work with a support analyst, they can be contacting by using Live Chat.  To get to Live Chat from within the program go to Help, Live Chat or by using this link: Live Chat
