Our organization still uses Sage Businessworks 2018 as a historical parts lookup. We have fully upgraded to Sage 100 2021 and use that as our main ERP, but it only has a 7 year look back, and in BW we have a look back that goes farther, and houses older part numbers.
We have recently started a demobilization of unsupported Windows 2012 servers in our environment, and therefore we have to move some software packages, including Businessworks. We have successfully migrated BW to a new server. I was able to install BW as a test on a system that has never had it, and all the INI files point correctly to the new 2019 server location. However, when going through the uninstall and reinstall of the client on past users who used to point to the old server, I get to the screen that shows where the mappings to the server are pointed, and they always point to the old server.
I have updated INI files. I have used several knowledgebase articles to look at things like registry keys. And Sage unfortunately will not provide any direct support on the issue. They suggested I use this platform and find someone who is Sage certified. I look forward to someone who knows where to look and can show me how to get these installs to work correctly.
