Forms to use for printing 1099 NEC to e-file

I am trying to figure out which forms I need to purchase in order to process my 1099 nec this year.  Last year, you were able to print on 4 up forms without a backer - this year I keep seeing 3 on a page for vendor copies.

When you e-file - are there particular forms you have to purchase?

    Thanks for reaching out. According to the latest guidelines provided by the Sage BusinessWorks support team as of December 2023, for the 1099 NEC forms, you can print the federal Copy A on blank paper in a 3-up format without the need for preprinted red ink forms.

    For recipient copies of both 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC, you should use blank 4 part perforated forms, which are available through Sage Checks and Forms.

    No specific forms need to be purchased for e-filing as substitute forms on plain paper are accepted by the Social Security Administration.
