database update

I downloaded and installed Sage BusinessWorks accounting 2021 service pack 18. Tried to update database as requested.  Got error message 7004: Failed to connect.

    Thank you for reaching out.  Firstly, if you haven't done so already, please ensure that you have installed the most current service pack for Sage BusinessWorks 2021 on your server and then on each workstation. Once this is done, attempt to launch the database updater again directly from the server.

    If you continue to face issues, it's important to check the status of your Pervasive/Actian service. Follow these steps:

    1. Click the Windows Start button and type "Services".
    2. Look for Pervasive PSQL xxxx Engine or Actian Zen Engine and ensure that the service is running. If not, start the service and set it to Automatic.

    Should the problem persist, it's possible that firewall settings might be preventing the connection. Make sure the firewall has the necessary ports open and Sage BusinessWorks tasks are allowed.

    If none of these steps resolve the issue, try rebooting your workstation and server, ensuring that you close all Sage-related tasks in the Task Manager before attempting to relaunch the program.
