In version 2013 you can preview those reports then select to print them to PDF,  Word or an Excel worksheet.   After previewing the income statement report at the top left select the Excel button.

Actually, I'm more interested in showing multiple months on one report without having to import into excel. Also would be looking for historical reports for AP and AR (by date, removing transactions from future entries).

No existing reports that would accomplish this.   For the General Ledger there is an Excel add on called F9 that has the ability to do an Excel spreadheet with each month.   You can download a free trial at F9.com.
