Parts on Order and Stock Status Report Discrepancies

The Part Totals on the Parts on Order Report and Committed quantity on the Stock Status Report do not match. Unless I am missing something here, they should. What gives? I am using BW V.2011 SP9.

Things to check.  In Inventory control / Utilities / Maintain IC paramters check to see if the reduce committed quantity is selected.  If it is and an issue transactions is done in the inventory module it will reduce the committed quantity and then the on order report and committed quantity would not agree.   Having duplicate sequence numbers on some parts could also cause the committed quantity on the part to be incorrect.  Contact customer support (800) 447-5700 and have them check.  Also upgrade to a supported release. ( We currently support v2012 SP 8 and 2013 service pack 1)

The Stock status report is pulling the committed quantity from the part.  This field can be edited by warehouse.  Edit the committed quantity to match the parts on order report.

What do you mean "duplicate sequence numbers"? We are an apparel manufacturer, so our part number sequence is XXX-XXXX S, with the X's repeating and the S indicating size S, so for a shirt that is Small thru XXL, there would be 5 part numbers repeated, with the last letter being the only difference. I checked the IC parameters and reduce committed is NOT checked. Our IT guy is supposed to be upgrading us...not sure when :)

The sequence number is an internal number assigned by the system.  There were some program issues in prior versions that allowed the system to use the same sequence number on multiple parts. This could cause discrepancies on part quantities.  These would need to be corrected before running a rebuild of inventory.

You will need to contact customer support (800) 447-5700 and have them check this.
