How do I add new modules to an existing Sage Estimating install?

1 minute read time.

I want to add an additional Estimating module (such as Database Editor, ePlan Interface, or Estimating Explorer) to an existing Sage Estimating install that does not already have it.

You may need to do this due to the following reasons:

  • You just purchased a new license or additional uses for a module.
  • You forgot to or intentionally did not install a specific Sage Estimating module that you have purchased, and later decide you want to add that module to an existing Sage Estimating install.

Resolution

  1. Verify which version of Sage Estimating you have installed.
    • To identify what version is currently installed, launch Estimating Tools (via Start, All Programs, Sage, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, Estimating Tools).
      • Note: Depending on the version of Windows and Sage Estimating you have installed, the program menu may differ slightly.
    • Click Help, About Estimating Tools. Make a note of the version, such as (15.1.0 Rev 1 Update 6).
  2. Locate the exact Sage Estimating install file for your current Estimating version (i.e. in this example, the 15.1 Revision 1 install files you have downloaded). Check with your IT.
  3. Run Setup.exe from InstallMainTE or Main folders and perform a Modify install.
  4. Select the module(s) you wish to add.
  5. Enter activation codes as prompted.
  6. Complete the install and reboot as required.
  7. Log back into Windows as the same Windows user you used to perform the Modify install and let the install finalize.
  8. Locate the correct update for Sage Estimating that was previously installed and any Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (formerly Timberline Office), and apply it.
    • For example, in step 1, if Help, About shows a version of 13.1.0 Rev 1 Update 6, you will need to locate the Estimating 15.1 Update 6 executable file (1510estupdate6.exe) that was previously downloaded and applied, and re-apply it on this computer. If you are unsure, check with your IT professional.
  9. Launch the new module(s) to verify that they can be accessed.
