Sage 100 Contractor Canadian Edition: Software compatibility and duplicate link numbers

Issue:

Sage 100 Contractor version 22.3.91 and later includes improvements for creating records from another software product. If you use version 22.3.91 or later, and you use Sage Paperless Construction or a 3rd party software to create records in Sage 100 Contractor, be aware that you might have duplicate link numbers in your data. This may cause:

• An inability to void a transaction with a duplicate link number. Attempting to void the transaction results in the message “Unable to void: The record's Link# [#######] is duplicated in the database. Please contact technical support to fix this error.”
• Unexpected results when you view related information for a record. For example, viewing the source for a ledger transaction record shows an unrelated invoice, or viewing job cost information shows additional, unrelated job costs.

Action:

Canadian Edition:

If you use Sage Paperless Construction, follow option 1. For all 3rd party software, follow options 2.

Option 1: If you use Sage 100 Contractor version 22.3.91 or later and Sage Paperless Construction (any version), this issue applies to you. You can continue processing. However, you might encounter one of the issues described above. Sage Paperless Construction is working on a fix that will be announced in this forum. We will also provide next steps when the fix is announced.

Option 2: If you use 3rd party software to create records in Sage 100 Contractor version 22.3.91 or later, contact your 3rd party vendor to ensure their product is using the latest Sage 100 Contractor API.
