Hello Catdc1,
On the 3-5 Jobs window, you can use the F7 key on the Job Status field and select Lock after save option. This prevents users from editing the information after saving the record. Only users logged in as supervisor can edit the information. That would take away the ability from anyone changing the field from Closed back to Open...only drawback is that it prevents any user from changing that field. So if you have someone else changing the field from Current to Closed, they would need to be logged as the supervisor as well.

I can let you know that we are currently working on another option of making the Job inactive and not immediately visible. This capability is made possible only because of the move to the SQL platform and will be available in v20 once testing is complete.
