Login to Sage 100 Contractor Remotely

I setup Sage 100 contractor on Windows Server 2022.  It's currently up to date using the latest Sage version.  I have employees in multiple states that need access from their laptops.  I read an article that says to port forward 48760 to 48765.  Configure firewall.  Then login using the ip of the server.  I'm still not able to login remotely after doing this.

Does anyone have experience with logging in to Sage remotely?

Do you have to use RDS?  Can it be done without RDS?

In the login window is it just the IP address or is it IPaddress\sageservername?

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it.

It may be easier to enable Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) which can utilize 2 Factor Authentification (2FA) for added safety. Check out DUO for a good 2FA provider.

Opening up your server to the world the way you are describing is dangerous but possible. I don't have any experience sharing the actual server via RDS.
