No Server Upgrade So no Payroll Updates

SOLVED

I am attempting to get our server upgraded  (2012R)!  It's proven to take much longer than anticipated.   Because of that, I have not been able to download the new year tax update.   I have updated the maximums and will double check the rates.  Is there anything else I need to be aware of?   Guys need to be paid whether I have a new server or not...so what can I do to mitigate issues.  Thank you!

You have done what you can.  I doubt the FIT & SIT withholding tables change that much from year to year so I wouldn't worry too much about it, but certainly make it a priority.

Thank you so much Char.   I would assume the audit will catch any discrepancy between the calculations.   Is there a knowledgebase article that I should reference if there are any calculations that a repair doesn't fix?

Yes the PR audit repair button will re-read all the valid payroll transactions to rebuild the employee's year to date values.  Then it checks the math for SSI and Medicare  only, checks for unposted, or uncomputed records, quarter vs check date mis-matches.  It does not check CA SDI which is also a % tax, or SUI & ETT or FUTA.  If you match a payroll service the SSI and Medicare variances can be ignored if they are minor variances.  If you do your own payroll they need to be resolved via a hand computer record to fix those taxes (typically dated 12/31/23, and the check # of "tax adj").

To offset the employee deductions, use FIT (because you cannot have a negative payroll check).  To offset state deductions use SIT (assuming your state has SIT).  Just make sure that employee has year to date values in FIT or SIT to take from.  Then post those records and re-run the PR audit repair again.
