Why is the 16.1 desktop not fully resizeable?

Or, if it is, how can I do it? I do not need this useless webpage space taking up 2/3 of my screen. V14 was so useful for accessing tasks and applications; this version is just awful.

    Hi Rosetta,

You can turn close the Webpages and permanently turn them off under Options > Desktop Settings.

In addition, you can make the Applications / Favorites bar on the left wider by hovering over the gray space between the panes until your cursor changes to a double-arrow.  Left-click and hold while you drag the bar to your desired size.  This will not change how the menus operate, however.

You can also determine existing (or create new) reports that you would like to have available in the Desktop without having to run them on the menu or through an application.  Add them by clicking the "+" icon on the Webpage side of the screen.

Thank you but you did not answer the question I asked. I can and did close the webpages, but we can't size down the window so that the blank space is not eating up my screen. All I want is one column of the Favorites bar, like Desktop used to be.

    Hi Rosetta,

I misunderstood what you were trying to accomplish. You are limited with resizing the window, although it is possible by clicking the maximize / restore button on the top right of the screen (the square). When not maximized, I was able to get it a bit smaller, however, how much room it takes up depends on your screen resolution. On one of my monitors, the resolution is 1920 x 1080, and the Desktop window takes up about half of the screen. On another monitor where the resolution is 2160 x 1440, it takes up about three-quarters of the screen.

The other thing you can do if you are always flipping back and forth is to add non-Sage items into your favorites (i.e. Excel, Word, a link to a folder, etc.). I know it is not the best answer, but it seems to be all that is possible at the moment.
