I had this issue before where Sage stops working and the next time you try to load it, it will act funky.  Right click on your taskbar and select "Windows Task Manager", then click on "more details" (I believe that was the name) to expand the window, look for "pvxwin32.exe" and close all running instances.  Then try to load sage again, it should work normally

Thanks for the suggestion.  I don't see pvxwin32.exe running at all on any tab of the Task Manager. 

ufff, my apologies, i'm just realizing you are using sage 300.  I don't know the windows process name sage 300 runs under.  Did you try rebooting your pc?  That clears all locked files

Yes.  This issue actually started a week ago.  I thought it may resolve itself.  But here's a new week and it's still doing this.  I appreciate your responses.
