Table Question for GL

SOLVED

Could someone provide me a mapping or quick summary explanation on the fields in the following tables:

[GLM_MASTER__ACCOUNT]

[GLM_MASTER__ACCOUNT_ACTIVITY_HISTORY]

I was also wondering what table stores the information to determine what the current period is in the system?

    Hello NorthernCrane,

The GLM_MASTER_ACCOUNT data table stores the accumulator totals for each account. When transactions are posted in General Ledger, the appropriate fields are updated in this file. This data table is primarily used by the Financial Statement Designer programer to create financial statements, and is used to produce program-designed reports such as the General Ledger and the default Trial Balance on the GL Reports menu. This data table stores monthly activity sufficient to roll-back financial statements for up to two years. This data table is bolstered by the GLM-MASTER_ACCOUNT_ACTIVITY_HISTORY to support printing financial statements for up to a total of 10 prior years.

The GLM_MASTER_FISCAL_CONTROLS stores the current period and fiscal year end and other control settings for the functioning of the General Ledger program.

If you have access to the Report Designer application within the Sage 300 CRE software, you can print the Data Dictionary by going to Tools > Print Available Fields. The data table names you previously referenced are as they appear in Crystal Reports; if you check the box "Include information for ODBC reporting?" you will see additional information. The data table names do not appear exactly as they do in Crystal Reports, but you should be able to identify the data tables you need for any particular report design.
