How are other companies handling miscellaneous work requests?( Small jobs not requiring contracts)

I was wondering how other companies who use  SAGE CRE handle small jobs/work requests?  These range from repairs that take only a few hours to some that might take a day or so.  We currently have a JOB inside of SAGE that is set up for these and each job is its a cost code.   This has been handled this way for quite a while but the volume of these jobs have increased and it has become quite a lists and hard to maintain.  We as a company have been with SAGE CRE for quite a number of years and have handled these work requests this way for some time so I am wondering if we have missed a better solution.
