Subcontractor Insurance Compliance

We are going to track COI's for our subcontractors in Sage...they will be project/commitment specific. Where can I find the best articles for training? I was hoping for a step by step walk through. I've found several articles, but they mention different ways to do this. We have about 500 subcontract commitments per year.
