Anyone have an idea why the gross on the final paycheck stubs does not match the gross earnings on the W2's?

None of the employee paycheck stubs YTD gross match their gross earnings on their W2's. This includes employees hired during the 2020 year so it can not be a carryover from last year.  Does anyone have any idea why?

  • We created a "true-up" report for this that give you gross wages, less any pretax plans (each listed separately), then the W2 amount.    Helps tremendously reconciling to the W2 and the pretax plans as well.

I'd be interested in learning how to do that.  I've been learning this job (previously document control, never in HR before) and this software by the seat of my pants, video tutorials, and lots of reading.  Now that I am starting to get a firm grip on things I suppose creating reports for specific purposes might be my next new adventure.
