Merging employees for W2 from two databases?

We have two databases for payroll. We have an employee who will be switching jobs and therefore needs to be moved from one database to the other. Is there a way to merge his records at year-end so that he still only gets one W-2, or will we need to provide him two W-2's, one from each database?  We already merge data for combined filing, but I've never had the same employee in both databases before, so wasn't sure how Sage/Aatrix treats that. 

Any other considerations, that I should be concerned with, while we're at it?

    There may be issues when merging files in cases where same employee (based on SSN) exists in more than one PR Master files.  In these cases there is a way to flip an Aatrix setting so that the totals from both PR data folders/files are included on the Aatrix reports.   Refer to KB article 28238.  Sage 300 CRE support can help with changing the Aatrix setting if you find the employee totals aren't being returned correctly for an employee that exists in multiple company folders that report to the same FEIN.
