Hello Sage 300 Universe!
I am new to a company and there are randomly 8 accounts that have 5 digits instead of 4 digits in the Chart of Accounts. I am told they were using these to ROLL UP the accounts. I use Office Connector as well as the Trial Balance and Excel to create my financials and these 5 digit accounts seem to cause issues, whether not allowing all the accounts to print in Connector( I think it thinks it is a prefix) or plaxing them at the very bottom of my TB, when some are liability accounts.
I would like to switch them to a 4 digit format---keep in mind they are linked to payroll and jobcost. Is there a way to MERGE the old and new accounts...we have like 100 years of data...we may have invented the computer here. Otherwise I was thinking of just implementing on 1/1 2023 and Journaling the Last 3 years of Data from the old account to the new account monthly.
