2022 1099's

SUGGESTED

Hi,

We are running Sage 300 CRE version 20.4.1, are we able to print correctly 2022 1099's with this version or do we need the latest version?

Thank you

The IRS doesn't release requirements for 2022 Forms until late in the year and then Sage has to update the software and send us a new version...at least that's my understanding of why it seems to happen so late.  EVERY year for the last 22 years, Sage will send us a year-end update the last week or two in December that must be applied before we print Form 1099's and Form W-2's.  For us, we finish the payroll year without the update, run all the year end reports we want, and then apply the updated version and start testing the 1099's and W-2's.  You can apply the update as soon as you get it, but you can do it like us, too.  It all is kind of rushed around the holidays, but that's just the way it is.  You can run the actual 1099's and W-2's in January to beat the January 31st deadline.  However, before you process January 2023 payroll, you'll have to download the new PR tax table.

And, Sage is now on version 20.5.x.  However, the upgrade path has always allowed you to skip one update and jump directly to the next.  So we wouldn't upgrade to 20.5.x now, but wait for the year end version and jump to that newer version then.

    Hope this helps!
