Avidxchange Create-a-check

SOLVED

Do anyone know if we have to use a third party check writing software with Sage 300 CRE?  If so, what software would you suggest.  Avidxchange is no longer supporting their software.

We've used create-a-check (Avid) for 25 years and just got notice that they will no longer be supporting it once our contract comes up for renewal. Not happy with this as we have no desire to go checkless. We will be looking for an alternative software that can process paper checks for multiple companies (in house).

wondering if you did the switch to Print Boss and if so how is it going? We are in same boat, didnt know that Create A Check was being phased out and we are pretty desperate to make a move..

We did reluctantly switch to PrintBoss a few months ago. Setup was a pain, but their tech support helped, even before we paid for it (they have a 30 day trial). I don't think it's as user friendly as CAC which I knew in and out since we used it for 25 years. Setting up the check format to look like what we were using with CAC was our biggest problem. From what I understand, PB has a small number of tech support people on staff, so you have to wait your turn before someone will call back. Don't expect to call and talk to someone immediately. I didn't find their online help to be much help. Not the best when you're printing checks and have a problem in the middle of it. Too bad Sage couldn't integrate something like PB or CAC to their software so we wouldn't have to deal with all this! Only advantage over CAC would be price. You pay the cost of the software up front, then pay annual support if you want it ($200 a year I think?)

    Hi Barb,

Since CAC is no longer supporting, we are switching to PrintBoss.  Our check format is check at the top and two stubs on the bottom.  My IT is telling me that the only PrintBoss check format that will work with Sage 300 CRE is check at the bottom.  This may not have been an issue for you.  Do you know whether there is an option to change for check format?
